PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The OurEcho Challenge is a STEM competition that empowers young changemakers to take a closer look at biodiversity in their communities. Young leaders will first identify threats to local ecosystems and then propose solutions to help preserve, protect, or restore those natural resources directly taking action toward United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 14 and/or 15

This year, EarthEcho is excited to open the OurEcho Challenge STEM competition to youth leaders in the US, ages 13-16.‍ Up to ten finalist teams will advance for a chance to win top prizes of $1,000, $2,500, and $5,000!

NEW THIS YEAR: youth can submit their project entries without an adult mentor or teacher. However, we do encourage youth-led teams to work with an adult mentor or teacher at a local organization or school as the grant prizes will not be awarded to the students directly, but rather to support the project through their supporting organization or school. Full details can be found here

US Deadline: April 26, 2024 at 11:59 PM ET/ 10:59 PM CT/ 9:59 PM MT /8:59 PM PT/ 5:59 PM HT.
